Slot

To map words and phrases to specific slots, use regular expressions. For example, the entity value of New York may have synonyms Big Apple and NYC. For a search engine to understand a user’s intent, they must enter one of these terms in the field. Once the term is entered, the slot value will be indicated with a colored underline. After mapping the slot, the user can edit or delete the slot by selecting it from the Slots tab.

A slot serves a grammatical function and has the ability to fit any morpheme sequence. The term is also used to describe a job or assignment. For example, a slot in a copy desk is the position held by the chief copy editor. It is also the name of a job position at a Gazette, a department of a government agency, or a specific aircraft authorized by an airport or air traffic authority.

An open space inside a machine is known as a slot. Slots in a computer are often called expansion slots, because they allow users to add new components to their system. These slots accept add-on boards, such as video cards. Also, slots are often called bays, because they are the sites in a computer where disk drives are installed. They are located on the front or back of a computer. You can read the definition of a slot in a motherboard for more information.
