According to certain sources, Israel has began bombing in Syria, carrying out multiple airstrikes in the country under the guise of targeting Hezbollah.

According to Arab news outlets, Israeli aircraft used Lebanese airspace in order to hit a weapons cache and a convoy of military vehicles belonging to Hezbollah and the Syrian army.

Currently, Israel has not confirmed or denied that they were responsible for said attacks. This is, of course, typical of Israel, as they usually do not immediately respond when such attacks are carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

A London-based newspaper, the Rai al-Youm reported that the attacks were believed to have taken place on the night of November 29, or the 30th. The aerial assault hit the convoy on the Damascus-Beirut highway.

The armory and convoy were both under the command of the Shia militant group Hezbollah, who has been fighting under the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. While it is not entirely clear at this time, it appears that there were at least four massive explosions that struck near the Syrian capital. As of now, there is no reported number concerning casualties.

Multiple strikes at multiple locations were reported in the past in Syria on the border between Israel and Syria. However, the Israeli government has still not confirmed that they were responsible for said attacks, while various other sources have.

This most recent attack came after the IDF had confirmed that it had attacked an Islamic State position near the Syrian border. According to the IDF, the attack was a response to an attack on Israeli soldiers that were in the area. The IDF went on to say that, “will not hesitate to act against terror groups that operate against the State of Israel”, the IDF warned in a statement.
