A UFO spotted over Cley Hill near Frome was not aliens, it has been revealed.
A recent video appeared to show a mysterious UFO circling an area of land nearby.
The video, taken by a Frome resident, shows a streak of light circling over the National Trust owned land in Corsley.
Located at the edge of the Longleat Estate in Warminster, Cley Hill has long been thought of as a hot spot for UFOs.
It has since been revealed that this streak of light was in fact created by a stunt plane belonging to nearby acrobatics group AeroSparx.
The innovative display team performs dazzling acrobatic displays with fireworks attached to the tips of their wings.
The wingtip pyrotechnics took many years of careful development and are all hand crafted for reliability and consistency.
Other innovations the group pioneers includes LED lighting which can create the illusion of painting with light.
AeroSparx is based near Longbridge Deverill just outside Warminster. The team regularly practices in the skies around the town, including over Cley Hill.
Somerset Live contact the group to confirm it was them and not aliens in the sky over Frome.
Guy Westgate, one of the pilots, said: “Yep, was us! No mystery, sorry.”
The resident who took the original video was a little sceptical the light could have been caused be aliens.
Speaking to Somerset Live, he said: “I took this video from my house in Frome last night. It was over the Cley Hill area I think, which is always a hotspot for UFOs”
“Probably a drone with a fancy flame effect tail or something. It’s been spotted a few times locally.”
Cley Hill has been a meeting place for UFO spotters for around 40 years now. The spotters have been drawn by talk of lights, flying objects and what have been described as ‘other unidentifiable oddities’.
