The glowing apparition was discovered after restaurant owner Paul Wood received an alert that a burglar alarm had been set off.
He quickly pulled up CCTV footage from The Keys, Huddersfield on his phone.
And as he watched on in horror he saw a white figure that appeared to float through his business.
“I immediately checked if the cameras were working properly and found nothing wrong with them”
Owner Paul Wood
He said: “I was initially quite spooked by it all as it was not what I was expecting to see.
“We have only had the CCTV for a few weeks and never seen anything like it before.
“I immediately checked if the cameras were working properly and found nothing wrong with them.
“The footage is really strange as I can see the counter where his legs should be. If it really was a ghost, it would have been the best photo of one that has ever taken.”
The phenomenon may have something to do with the restaurant’s unusual location.
Set underneath 1,000 year-old Huddersfield Parish Church, truth seekers might be right in thinking spirits roam about the tables day-to-day.
Mr Wood added: “The restaurant is quite a spooky place being in a 1,000 year-old church and even the floor is made of gravestones.”
A priest might have figured it out, however.
Reverend Cook claimed he came down to make some photocopies and may have set off the alarm.
He said: “I came in one way and left using another exit which is why you never see me leave. However, I am still not quite sure why it has captured me like that. The footage also makes it look like I was wearing a hat but I wasn’t.”
Other unexplained ghostly sightings include the infamous Black-eyed Child caught on camera roaming about Staffordshire.
Ghostbusters are reporting a surge in supernatural sightings all over the UK too.
Most recently a figure of a ghost-like child walking up and down a street was captured on chilling CCTV footage.
