Despite the various claims stating that marijuana can’t cure cancer, there are over 100 science-backed studies which appear to say otherwise. And before you shut me down, just hear me out.
First and foremost, I would like for it to be noted that alcohol, a substance which is without a shadow of a doubt responsible for millions of deaths each you, is legal. Meanwhile, we continue to argue over an herb’s medicinal value. An herb that is responsible for no deaths, and has been linked to a number of medicinal benefits. Sadly, many states continue to ignore its medicinal components, and it remains illegal.
However, it seems that times are changing, at least in most states where support for legalization has risen from 31% in 2000 to 60% in 2016. Not only that, but marijuana is completely legal in a handful of states for both recreational and medicinal use.
And it’s no wonder that people are beginning to express a change of opinion, as the old notion that pot is evil has been disproven time and time again. On the contrary, pot is now being used to treat anxiety, depression, PTSD, anorexia, cancer, to cure severe epilepsy and also to treat muscular disorders.
Now, despite its schedule 1 classification by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), which deems it to have no medicinal value and to be highly addictive, the National Cancer Institute has even admitted that cannabis oil could kill cancer cells. Furthermore, the National Institute on Drug Abuse has also admitted that it could not only kill cancer cells but also shrink brain tumors. And there isn’t just one study. No, there are literally over a hundred.
Sadly, marijuana could seriously thwart the pharmaceutical industry’s profit margins if legalized. Why? Well, because without a patent for something that people could grow themselves, they would no longer have control. People could treat themselves from their own homes for a number of illnesses. Take a moment and look through the list of studies confirming what I have covered in this article. And when you are done, ask yourself, why is marijuana still not medically legal in all 50 states?
