Google Nanobots Will Crack the Secret of Immortality by 2029

Ray Kurzweil, Google’s renowned futurist, believes that it is possible to live forever. In order to accomplish this, he wishes to introduce nanobots to humanity.

You may be wondering what nanobots are, and that is a very important question. According to Kurzweil, nanobots are similar to tiny robots which will attach to our DNA, thus connecting us to the cloud. As an extension of our brain, the nanobots would replace our immune system, which he has stated could even destroy cancer.

“Your immune system, for example, does a poor job on cancer,” he told Playboy. ” It thinks cancer is you. It doesn’t treat cancer as an enemy. It also doesn’t work well on retroviruses. It doesn’t work well on things that tend to affect us later in life because it didn’t select for longevity.”

The nanobots, he maintains would act as T cells or the type of blood cell which works as our immunity response system. If the T cells could be manipulated to attack cancer cells, then the patient could be sent into remission.

However, defeating disease isn’t all that Kurzweil states nanobots will be able to accomplish.

“We’re going to be funnier. We’re going to be sexier. We’re going to be better at expressing loving sentiment,” Kurzweil said at a recent discussion at Singularity University.

And he believes this will all be possible by 2045. However, these events will take place over a timeline, which he insists will be like this:

“The nonbiological intelligence created in that year will reach a level that’s a billion times more powerful than all human intelligence today,” he told Hochman. “But there will be dramatic changes prior to that.”

This is where his predictions for 2029 come in.

“By the 2020s we’ll start using nanobots to complete the job of the immune system,” he said. “Our immune system is great, but it evolved thousands of years ago when conditions were different.”

After the nanobots resume control of our immunity, they will move on to bigger and better things, according to Kurzweil.

“I believe we will reach a point around 2029 when medical technologies will add one additional year every year to your life expectancy,” he told Hochman. “By that, I don’t mean life expectancy based on your birthdate, but rather your remaining life expectancy.”

And then, by 2045, our human intelligence will have completely merged with artificial intelligence.

But, unless you understand the transhumanist movement, you may have little understanding of how disturbing this all is. Transhumanists believe that we are meant to be immortal, and that or initial state is incomplete. In order to achieve a higher state of being, they believe we will need technology to improve our overall being. Many have speculated that there will come a time in which human consciousness no longer exists and that everything that currently makes us human will dissipate.

Others believe that all of this will eventually lead the human race to be replaced by robots. And while that may sound extremely science-fiction, it is becoming more of a science truth by the day. Sadly, nanobots will only be the next step on this path, as it has already begun with many of our day to day lives revolving completely around our technological belongings.
