Alien investigator Scott C Waring made the outlandish claim on his website ufosightingsdaily.com.
Mr Waring has previously claimed the formations are the marks in the ground left by aliens who landed a UFO in the field.
Crop circles are often found in agricultural areas in the west country of England
But, he has now expanded his far-fetched conspiracy theory to include the possibility they are messages sent back by future generations of earthlings, and therefore proof that time travel is invented in the future.
Mr Waring blogged: “This crop formation was found on a hill top in Wiltshire this week.
“Such formations in fields are believers to be the landing prints of an alien space craft, but some say its a message sent to us by future humans.
“Either way, they are extraordinary and very exciting to contemplate how they were made.”
The crop circle appeared near the Oliver’s Castle hill fort site in Wiltshire on April 24.
Mr Waring threw down the gauntlet to Wiltshire farmers to set up cameras i their fields in a bid to film the formation of a crop circle.
He added: “A new crop circle is found in Whiltshire every month.
“You would think that some farmer would have $50 to buy a live cam and set it up to watch their fields.
“A farmer usually has a crop of $75,000-500,000 depending on the land size.
“Video of the making would change how science sees these formations forever.”
Crop circles have long been alleged to be caused by alien visitations.
However, Mr Waring is known for making statements of fact in connection with alleged UFO evidence based on his own speculation.
Crop circles, which often appear in the south west of England, were exposed as elaborate hoaxes during the 1990s when many pranksters came forward to show how they made the often intricate designs using wooden planks.
Despite this exposure, some alien chasers still believe they are left as signs by aliens or are even the landing marks of a UFO.
