Bill To Pre-Emptively Attack Iran Introduced In Congress

Recently, Representative Alcee Hastings from Florida introduced a bill that would allow the U.S to invade Iran. According to the bill, it’s purpose is to prevent Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.

While many may have believed Donald Trump to be the candidate which would perpetuate less war, due to his America First policies, it seems that is no longer the case. Despite the fact that the relationship between Moscow and Washington seems to become better, Trump’s stance in regards to Iran and China is a different story.

Now, Alcee Hastings has introduced H.J Res. 10, or the “Authorization of Use of Force Against Iran Resolution.” The bill would obviously grant the U.S with the authority to attack Iran. Unfortunately, it doesn’t stop at that. The bill further grants the U.S this authority without congressional approval. According to the verbiage included in the bill, “The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as the President determines necessary and appropriate in order to achieve the goal of preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons.”

While it would seem that the current administration’s reasoning for such a war would be for the protection of America, on the contrary, it is not. Instead, it is to better Israel. Benyamin Netanyahu recently said it when he stated that Israel’s supreme goal was the containment of Iran.

During the last election cycle, Alcee Hasting’s received over $70,000 from the pro-Israel lobby. Due to this, it is obvious as to what she is trying to accomplish by her legislation. Furthermore, it is sickening that an administration which has touted itself to be non-establishment, is doing exactly what the last administrations have done: providing Israel the go-ahead for their apartheid dream.
