    Empaths are far more than just highly-sensitive people, as they not only sense the emotions and feelings of others, they also feel them. Due to this, many empaths have to tend to themselves more than others when it comes to methods of self-care.

    Sadly, however, many empaths experience adrenal fatigue and worse, because they never allow themselves the time to recuperate after a long stint of feeling the emotions of others. In turn, they may find themselves burnt out or feeling drained. If you are one of the many feeling this way, have no fear. There are a number of helpful, metaphysical methods that can be undertaken to become rejuvenated, so you will be feeling like yourself in no time.

    1. Crystals

    While it may seem like spiritual mumbo-jumbo, it isn’t. Crystals have been touted for quite some time for their healing and rejuvenating benefits. Try visiting a crystal shop, or do your own research. Find the stone that calls your name, and provides cleansing benefits. Preferably, I enjoy citrine, as it’s orange hue reminds me of sunshine and it provides positivity and cleansing anytime I need it.

    2. Meditation

    Meditation has been proven by scientists to reduce gray matter in the minds of those that use it as a viable therapy. In fact, meditating for eight weeks was proven in a Harvard study to make measurable changes in brain regions associated with memory, sense of self, empathy, and stress. Because of this, meditation is perfect for anyone, especially an empath that is feeling overloaded by the day-to-day grind.

    3. Smudging

    Smudging has been used for ages to cleanse and clear negative energies from homes, personal selves and more. And not only is it a spiritual tactic, it has been proven to aid in clearing the air around of 94% of bacteria for up to 24 hours, according to Elephant Journal.     According to the Mayo Clinic, yoga is useful for stress reduction, improving fitness and managing chronic conditions. Adrenal fatigue is, of course, a chronic condition and can be improved greatly with yoga.

    5. Releasing Energy/ Grounding

    In a recent study, scientists endeavored to find out how grounding or earthing affected human health. The study was concluded by saying that earthing could be an effective strategy against chronic stress, ANS dysfunction, inflammation, pain, poor sleep, disturbed HRV, hypercoagulable blood, and many common health disorders, including cardiovascular disease. Furthermore, they stated that earthing could prove to be as essential as sunshine, clean air and water, nutritious food and physical activity.
